COILL

“This first collection contains sparse pieces which fit in well with the Gaelic tradition but which also reflects classical influences. The personal suffuses with the mythic as Bailie produces an excellent selection of poems.”

The Black Mountain Review

“It is a pleasure and a relief at times to read poetry which has no obvious axe to grind, especially in these angst-ridden days. There are haiku-style poems which fit nicely with early Irish of Gaelic traditions such as early poems like Pangur Ban and the epigrammatic style of earlier Greek influences has not been overdone. ‘Less is more’ works very well here and is perhaps indicative of Bailie’s stripped to the waist style of poetry in the future.
